Song of the Week: I love Museum of Bellas Artes

I know a song has megahit potential when my six-year-old daughter loves it as much as I do. So far this year, her favourite songs have been “Warm Heart of Africa” by The Very Best, and “Black & Blue” by Miike Snow, both big choons. Now add Museum of Bellas Artes’ “Who Do You Love,” a cover (of sorts) of a mid-’60s mild hit by the forgotten girl group The Sapphires. If that isn’t head-scratching enough (and how about that crazy name!), Museum of Bellas Artes aren’t your typical buzz band. Sure, they’re from Sweden (an indie-pop prerequisite), and they’ve been tipped by both Pitchfork and Air France, but they’re almost pre-buzz: they only have one song up on MySpace (so it’s hard to know exactly what they sound like), only have one interview that I could find, and a shockingly low number of 85 friends on MySpace (let alone not having a Twitter or Facebook account — gasp). On the strength of “Who Do You Love,” I have a feeling this pre-fame period won’t last long...
