Song of the Week: No Age on target

A music-junkie Facebook friend of mine recently posted a sacrilegious status: I don’t “get” Sonic Youth. He then asked his other FB friends which artists they didn’t get. But, he had me at Sonic Youth. There’s a fine line between noisy fuzz-rock that sounds scattered and noisy fuzz-rock that sounds brilliant. And No Age (like their Canadian counterparts Japandroids) add just a dollop of pop to make the noise go down great. “You’re a Target” comes from a new EP, which can be listened to in its entirety on their Sub Pop page, and makes you think their Nouns follow-up is going to be a bull’s-eye.
